TGPRB issued the SCT SI (Civil and/or Equivalent) notification (Rc. No. 225/Rect./Rect-1/2026) on 29 July 2026 for 275 posts. The online application window closed on 16 September 2026 (5 PM). The Preliminary Written Test is tentatively scheduled for 29 November 2026; hall tickets will be released on tgprb.in.

Selection is in stages: Preliminary Written Test → Physical Efficiency & Measurement Tests → Final Written Examination. Candidates must qualify in each stage to move to the next.

* 200 marks each for SI (Civil), Station Fire Officer and Deputy Jailor; 100 marks each for RSI (AR / SAR CPL / TGSP) and SPF SI. Each Final Written Examination paper is 3 hours. Papers I and II are qualifying only and are not counted for the final selection. PWT minimum qualifying marks: 30% OC (incl. EWS), 25% BC, 20% SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen; FWE: 40%, 35% and 30% respectively in each paper. Negative marking: 20% of a question's marks in the PWT, 25% in Part A of Papers I and II.
200 objective-type questions in two parts:
Arithmetic: It will include questions on problems relating to number system, simple interest, compound interest, ratio & proportion, average, percentage, profit & loss, time & work, work & wages, time & distance, clocks & calendars, partnership, mensuration etc
Test of Reasoning: It will include questions of both verbal & non-verbal type and questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory etc
1. General Science - contemporary developments in science and technology and their implications including matters of everyday observation and experience, contemporary issues relating to protection of environment as may be expected of a well educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline
2. Current events of national and international importance
3. History of India (including Indian National Movement) – emphasis will be on broad and general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, cultural and political aspects
4. Geography of India
5. Indian Polity and Economy – including the Country’s political system, rural development, planning and economic reforms in India
6. Telangana Movement and State Formation - The idea of Telangana (1948-1970), Mobilization phase (1971-1990), towards formation of Telangana State (1991-2014)
Note: the Paper I and II descriptions below come from the earlier TSLPRB syllabus. Under the 2026 notification these two papers have an objective Part A and a descriptive Part B and are qualifying only (see the exam pattern above). The detailed syllabus is in Annexure III of the official notification.
Qualifying Paper in English will be of Matriculation or equivalent standard. Questions of the standard of SSC / Matriculation seeking to ascertain the Candidate’s knowledge of Usage, Vocabulary, Grammar, Comprehension and other language skills will be asked for in the Objective Format.
Candidates have to choose one of the languages i.e., either Telugu or Urdu and should indicate their choice as and when asked for by the recruiting authority. Option once exercised will be final and a candidate will not be allowed to change it subsequently Qualifying Paper in Telugu or Urdu will be of Matriculation or equivalent standard.
