Study Planner for Competitive Exams

The Competebits Study Planner turns your exam date, daily study hours and subjects into a day-by-day timetable. It counts the study days you actually have, gives more time to high-priority subjects, rotates subjects so none is forgotten, and builds in revision days and mock tests. Everything runs in your browser — no sign-up is needed, and your plan and ticked sessions stay saved on your device.

How to Create an Effective Exam Study Plan

  1. Set your target exam date. Use the date from the official notification, or your best estimate if it is not announced yet.
  2. Identify subjects. List every section of the exam from its syllabus — see the syllabus pages for common exams.
  3. Allocate realistic study hours. Choose hours you can keep up every study day, not just on a good day.
  4. Prioritise difficult subjects. Mark weak or high-weightage subjects as High priority so they get more time.
  5. Schedule revision. Keep a regular revision day each week so earlier topics are not forgotten.
  6. Practise mock tests. Take full-length mock tests regularly and spend time analysing mistakes.
  7. Track progress. Tick off each completed session and adjust the plan if you fall behind.

How Many Hours Should I Study?

There is no single right number. The hours you need depend on how much of the syllabus you already know, how competitive the exam is, and how much time you have before it. A working student with two focused hours a day can make steady progress, while a full-time aspirant may plan six or more. Start with hours you can sustain, check your progress after a week or two, and increase the time if needed.

Why Revision Matters

Without revision, much of what you study is forgotten within days. Regular revision and practice questions move topics into long-term memory and show which areas are still weak. That is why the planner adds a revision day each week, sets aside time for revision and practice in the middle of your preparation, and gives the last two weeks mostly to revision and mock tests.

Study Plan Tips

  • Study your hardest subject at the time of day you concentrate best.
  • Take a short break after every 45–60 minutes of study.
  • Keep short notes and formula sheets for quick revision before the exam.
  • Follow current affairs daily if your exam has a general awareness section.
  • Analyse every mock test: note why each wrong answer was wrong.
  • If you miss a day, continue from the next day rather than trying to do everything at once.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Competebits Study Planner work?

You enter your exam date, start date, daily study hours, study days and subjects with a priority. The planner counts your available study days, splits the total hours between subjects by priority (High 3, Medium 2, Low 1), rotates subjects across days, and adds weekly revision and mock-test days, with more revision and mock tests in the final weeks before the exam.

Can I create a study plan for any competitive exam?

Yes. The planner is not tied to one exam. Enter any exam or goal name and your own subjects, so it works for SSC, banking, railway, police, state PSC, UPSC and other exams.

Can I select my own subjects?

Yes. Add as many subjects as you need (up to 15), set a High, Medium or Low priority for each, and optionally list topics so each study session names the topic to cover.

Can I change my study hours?

Yes. Choose between 1 and 12 hours per day and the days of the week you can study. Use Edit Plan at any time to change these and generate a new plan.

Can I use the planner on mobile?

Yes. The planner is designed for phones first, with large buttons and checkboxes, and it also works on tablets and computers.

Can I track completed study sessions?

Yes. Tick each session when you finish it. Today's progress and your overall progress update instantly and are saved in your browser on this device.

Does the planner require an account?

No. There is no sign-up or login. Your plan and progress are stored only in your browser on this device, so clearing browser data or switching devices will remove them.
