APPSC Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II Recruitment 2026 – Notification No.25/2026

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released the Detailed Notification No.25/2026 dated 9 October 2026 (brief notification dated 15 September 2026) for direct recruitment to the post of Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II in A.P. Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare and Backward Classes Welfare Subordinate Services (General/Limited Recruitment) — 97 vacancies, district-wise.

Online applications: 9 October 2026 to 29 October 2026, up to 11:59 PM, through the Commission's website (psc.ap.gov.in).

• Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II, A.P. Social Welfare Subordinate Service: 41 vacancies (incl. 07 carried forward) — Pay Scale Rs 37,640 – 1,15,500
• Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II, A.P. Tribal Welfare Subordinate Service: 23 vacancies (incl. 03 carried forward) — Pay Scale Rs 37,640 – 1,15,500
• Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II, A.P. Backward Classes Welfare Subordinate Service: 33 vacancies (incl. 01 carried forward) — Pay Scale Rs 37,640 – 1,15,500

The brief notification listed 73 provisional posts (21 + 23 + 29). The detailed notification lists 97 (41 + 23 + 33): 20 more in Social Welfare and 4 more in Backward Classes Welfare, and it counts 11 carried-forward vacancies across the three services. District-wise breakup is in Annexure-I.

Age: 18–44 years as on 01/07/2026, with relaxations as per the notification. Educational Qualification: Social Welfare — Graduation with B.Ed / B.T; Tribal Welfare — Graduation with Diploma in Education or B.Ed; Backward Classes Welfare — Graduation with B.Ed or equivalent.

Selection Process: A written examination in online (CBRT) mode, followed by a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for qualifying candidates.

• Paper I — General Studies & Mental Ability: 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks
• Paper II — Education: 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks

Total: 300 marks. Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question, deducted for each wrong answer (G.O.Ms.No.235, Finance Dept.). The CPT is a 100-mark practical test (60 minutes) with minimum qualifying marks of 30 (SC/ST/PBD), 35 (BC) and 40 (OC).
