The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Brief Notification No.22/2026 dated 15 September 2026 for Direct Recruitment to the post of English Reporters and Telugu Reporters in A.P. Legislature Services (General Recruitment).

Online applications: 13 October 2026 to 2 November 2026, up to 11:59 PM, through the Commission's website (psc.ap.gov.in).

• English Reporters, A.P. Legislature Services: 10 vacancies (07 + 03 Carried Forward) — Pay Scale Rs 57,100 – 1,47,760
• Telugu Reporters, A.P. Legislature Services: 01 vacancy (Carried Forward) — Pay Scale Rs 57,100 – 1,47,760

Vacancies are provisional and subject to variation on confirmation from the concerned department. Age, community-wise breakup and other details will be published in the Detailed Notification, available on or before 13 October 2026 on the Commission's website — the date of the Detailed Notification is the crucial date for all eligibility purposes.

Educational Qualification (English Reporters): Bachelor's Degree of a University in India in any discipline (or an equivalent qualification); must have passed Shorthand (English) at not less than 150 words per minute; must have passed Typewriting (English) by higher grade. Preference is given to candidates who also hold Telugu Shorthand/Typewriting by higher grade.

Educational Qualification (Telugu Reporters): Bachelor's Degree of a University in India in any discipline (or an equivalent qualification); must have passed Shorthand and Typewriting (Telugu) both by higher grade; must have passed a practical test of 80 words per minute in Telugu Shorthand. Preference is given to candidates who also hold English Shorthand/Typewriting by higher grade.

Selection Process: A single-level online (CBRT) examination — no separate Screening Test — followed by a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for qualifying candidates.

• English Reporters — Paper I: General Studies & Mental Ability (150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks); Paper II: Shorthand (English) dictation at 150 wpm (750 words in 5 minutes) with 90 minutes transcription (150 marks). Total: 300 marks.
• Telugu Reporters — Paper I: General Studies & Mental Ability (150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks); Paper II: Shorthand (Telugu) dictation at 80 wpm (800 words in 10 minutes) with 150 minutes transcription (150 marks). Total: 300 marks.

Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question, deducted for each wrong answer in objective-type papers (G.O.Ms.No.235, Finance Dept.). The Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) is a 100-mark practical test (60 minutes) with minimum qualifying marks of 30 (SC/ST/PBD), 35 (BC) and 40 (OC).
