The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Brief Notification No.18/2026 dated 15 September 2026 for Direct Recruitment to the post of Forest Beat Officer in A.P. Forest Subordinate Service (General Recruitment).

Online applications: 16 October 2026 to 5 November 2026, up to 11:59 PM, through the Commission's website (psc.ap.gov.in).

• Forest Beat Officer, A.P. Forest Subordinate Service: 23 vacancies — Pay Scale Rs 25,220 – 80,910

Vacancies are provisional and subject to variation on confirmation from the concerned department. Age, community-wise breakup and other details will be published in the Detailed Notification, available on or before 16 October 2026 on the Commission's website — the date of the Detailed Notification is the crucial date for all eligibility purposes.

Educational Qualification: Must have passed the Intermediate Examination or its equivalent. Physical requirements (height, chest, walking test standards) are specified in the online Detailed Notification.

Selection Process: A single-level online (CBRT) examination — no separate Screening Test — followed by a walking test and Medical Examination (candidates picked up in a 1:2 ratio to vacancies) and a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for qualifying candidates.

• Qualifying Test — Essay writing in English, Telugu or Urdu (Descriptive Type): 45 minutes, 50 marks (qualifying only, not counted toward the merit total)
• Paper I — General Studies & Mental Ability: 100 questions, 100 minutes, 100 marks
• Paper II — General Science & General Mathematics (SSC Standard): 100 questions, 100 minutes, 100 marks

Merit total: 200 marks (Papers I–II). Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question, deducted for each wrong answer (G.O.Ms.No.235, Finance Dept.). A Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) also applies for qualifying candidates.
