APPSC Forest Range Officers Recruitment 2026 – Notification No.16/2026

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Brief Notification No.16/2026 dated 15 September 2026 for Direct Recruitment to the post of Forest Range Officers in A.P. Forest Service (General Recruitment).

Online applications: 16 October 2026 to 5 November 2026, up to 11:59 PM, through the Commission's website (psc.ap.gov.in).

  • Forest Range Officers, A.P. Forest Service: 4 vacancies — Pay Scale Rs 48,440 – 1,37,220

Vacancies are provisional and subject to variation on confirmation from the concerned department. Age, community-wise breakup and other details will be published in the Detailed Notification, available on or before 16 October 2026 on the Commission's website — the date of the Detailed Notification is the crucial date for all eligibility purposes.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree of a recognized university in India in one of the following subjects — Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Applications/Computer Science, Engineering (Agriculture, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science or Zoology — or an equivalent qualification. Physical requirements (height, chest, walking test standards) are specified in the online Detailed Notification.

Selection Process: A single-level online (CBRT) examination — no separate Screening Test — followed by a walking test and Medical Examination (candidates picked up in a 1:3 ratio to vacancies) and a Computer Proficiency Test (qualifying) for eligible candidates.

  • Qualifying Test — General English (50 marks) & General Telugu (50 marks), SSC Standard, must be qualified individually in each (100 marks; qualifying only, not counted toward the merit total)
  • Paper I — General Studies & Mental Ability: 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks
  • Paper II — Mathematics (SSC Standard): 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks
  • Paper III — General Forestry-I: 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks
  • Paper IV — General Forestry-II: 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks

Merit total: 600 marks (Papers I–IV). Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question, deducted for each wrong answer (G.O.Ms.No.235, Finance Dept.).
