The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Brief Notification No.14/2026 dated 15 September 2026 for Direct Recruitment to the post of Inspector of Factories in A.P. Factories Service (General Recruitment).
Online applications: 13 October 2026 to 2 November 2026, up to 11:59 PM, through the Commission's website (psc.ap.gov.in).
Vacancies are provisional and subject to variation on confirmation from the concerned department. Age, community-wise breakup and other details will be published in the Detailed Notification, available on or before 13 October 2026 on the Commission's website — the date of the Detailed Notification is the crucial date for all eligibility purposes.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering of a university recognized by the UGC or equivalent, AND a minimum of 2 years of industrial work experience in medium and large-scale manufacturing process industries, preferably in Industrial Safety, Occupational Safety, Health & Environment Management. The experience certificate must be issued by the Chief Executive of the concerned industry.
Selection Process: A single-level online (CBRT) examination — no separate Screening Test — followed by a Computer Proficiency Test for qualifying candidates.
Total: 450 marks. Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question, deducted for each wrong answer (G.O.Ms.No.235, Finance Dept.). The Computer Proficiency Test is a 100-mark practical test (60 minutes) with minimum qualifying marks of 30 (SC/ST/PBD), 35 (BC) and 40 (OC).
