The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Brief Notification No.12/2026 dated 15 September 2026 for Direct Recruitment to the post of District Probation Officer, Grade-II / Intake Probation Officer in A.P. Juvenile Welfare Correctional Sub Service (General Recruitment).

Online applications: 16 October 2026 to 5 November 2026, up to 11:59 PM, through the Commission's website (psc.ap.gov.in).

• District Probation Officer, Grade-II / Intake Probation Officer, A.P. Juvenile Welfare Correctional Sub Service: 15 vacancies — Pay Scale Rs 44,570 – 1,27,480

Vacancies are provisional and subject to variation on confirmation from the concerned department. Age, community-wise breakup and other details will be published in the Detailed Notification, available on or before 16 October 2026 on the Commission's website — the date of the Detailed Notification is the crucial date for all eligibility purposes.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Psychology, or any graduation with M.A. in Social Work or Psychology, or M.A. with specialization in Criminology or Correctional Administration, from a university in India established or incorporated by a Central Act, Provincial Act or State Act.

Selection Process: A single-level online (CBRT) examination — no separate Screening Test — followed by a Computer Proficiency Test for qualifying candidates.

• Paper I — General Studies & Mental Ability: 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks
• Paper II — Social Work and Criminology/Psychology: 300 marks (question count and duration to be detailed in the official notification)

Total: 450 marks. Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question, deducted for each wrong answer (G.O.Ms.No.235, Finance Dept.).
