APPSC Assistant Environmental Engineer Recruitment 2026 – Notification No.08/2026

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released the Detailed Notification No.08/2026 dated 6 October 2026 (brief notification dated 15 September 2026) for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Environmental Engineer in A.P. Pollution Control Board (General Recruitment) — 41 vacancies (40 + 01 carried forward), state-wide.

Online applications: 6 October 2026 to 27 October 2026, up to 11:59 PM, through the Commission's website (psc.ap.gov.in).

• Assistant Environmental Engineer, A.P. Pollution Control Board: 41 vacancies (incl. 01 carried forward) — Pay Scale Rs 57,100 – 1,47,760

The brief notification listed 40 provisional posts. The detailed notification lists 41: the same 40 plus one carried-forward EWS vacancy. Community-wise breakup (Annexure-I): OC 13, EWS 05 + 01 CF, BC-A 02, BC-B 05, BC-D 04, BC-E 02, SC-II 02, SC-III 04, ST 03; of these, 12 are reserved for women and 02 for meritorious sports persons (horizontal).

Age: 18–44 years as on 01/07/2026, with relaxations as per the notification (5 years for SC, ST, BC and EWS; 10 years for PBD). Educational Qualification: B.E/B.Tech degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or a pass in Sections A and B of AMIE (India) Civil.

Selection Process: A written examination (objective type, computer-based), followed by a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for shortlisted candidates.

• Paper I — General Studies & Mental Ability: 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks
• Paper II — Common Subject: 150 questions, 150 minutes, 150 marks

Total: 300 marks (the brief notification had shown Paper II at 300 marks and a 450-mark total; the detailed notification revises it). Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question, deducted for each wrong answer (G.O.Ms.No.235, Finance Dept.). The CPT is a 100-mark practical test (60 minutes) with minimum qualifying marks of 30 (SC/ST/PBD), 35 (BC) and 40 (OC).
