India joins the WTO Fisheries Subsidies Agreement

On 20 July 2026 India became the 123rd member to accept the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies, which curbs subsidies contributing to illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing to protect global marine stocks.
