RM Nachammai becomes first woman to head an operational nuclear power plant in India

RM Nachammai took charge as Chief Superintendent of the Kaiga Generating Station (Units 3 and 4) in Karnataka on 15 March 2026, becoming the first woman in India to head the operations of a functional nuclear power plant under NPCIL.
